Welcome to the 2011-2012 School Year!

Dear Parents,
This year I will have class 2-1 as my home room. I will be teaching Religion to fourth, third, as well as both second grades 2-1 and 2-2. However I will be teaching ELA only to the third and fourth due to the additional second grade Religion class.
Below is a list of basic supplies that will be required this year for ALL classes. Please make sure your children have the items marked with ***
by the first day of school, Sept.7. The rest needs to be in by Sept.12.

SUPPLY LIST:
***three sharpened pencils with an eraser on each (no erasable pens yet)
***four folders of any color (They must be plastic ones with bottom pockets and and clear front and back panels.)
***looseleaf pad with tear out pages (no loose looseleaf sheets or spiral pads) PLEASE DO NOT BRING BINDERS SINCE THEY TAKE UP TOO MUCH ROOM!
***two large flat cloth or plastic zippered pencil cases (no boxes allowed). One of these should be able to hold small items such as glue stick, scissors...)

*three hardcover composition notebooks with lots of pages (Spiral notebooks will not be allowed.) Please do not label these as they will be colored coded in class by subject. THIRD AND FOURTH WILL ALSO NEED ONE VOCABULARY NOTEBOOK LIKE LAST YEAR TO BE USED FOR WORDS FROM ALL FOUR TEACHERS.
*a pack of 3x5 index cards (to be kept at home till needed)
*a pack of different colored construction paper (to be kept at home till needed)
* stretchable book covers or brown paper to cover books (keep at home)
*a box of 8 to 12 colored pencils of different colors (no crayons)
*a glue small glue stick (no bottles of glue)
*a small scissors
*a family size box of tissues
*a roll of paper towels
*a container of bleach wipes
*an individual size hand sanitizer
*a lunch box (if you wish to bring your own lunch) This must be separate from your book bag.
*a large sturdy book bag. Wheeled carts are fine since books are heavy.

It is very important that all students comply with the rules about what to bring or not bring to class since it will make your child's start at school run much more smoothly. Thank you very much for your cooperation in this matter. I am looking forward to seeing at you at our opening meeting on Tues., Sept. 6 at 6:oo p.m. School begins Wed., Sept. 7 at 8:00 a.m. Ms. Saville
