Homework for 2nd, 3rd, & 4th Grades 11/26 to 11/30

Dear Parents,                                                                                                          UPDATED!
This Friday there will be 12:00 dismissal.  This week all classes will be writing letters to our service members to thank them for all sacrifices for us during the holidays. Our principal has provided us with the appropriate cards.  Letters will be written in class on looseleaf, graded, and copied over on the cards which will be packaged together and mailed.
This Thursday all classes will also receive a Spelling list that should be kept in their Homework folder. I suggest that you make an extra copy to be kept at home.  The list consists of basic words that each grade should know by the end of the school year. The words have been grouped in sets of ten to make it easier to study for upcoming quizzes, which will about a set every two weeks.
Homework on  this will begin next week. Third and fourthgrades only will be required to practice writing the words in script and all Spelling quizzes will require script as well.
We are now into Unit 2 in ELA.  Several homework assignments will require that students do adequate research on a specific topic.  It is necessary that students do this research in order to be prepared for the work to be done in class as well as assessments.  Students may either bring print outs of research done on the internet or bring information from nonfiction books on the topic from the library.
Please see below the correct grade for this week's homework.

Dear Parents,
This Monday all classes will complete their speeches using their Religion display boards and be given a grade for their oral presentation and their composition work on that topic.  On Tuesday our principal has stated that three students from each grade will be selected to participate in the Religion Fair.  Students must be selected based on quality of research done, appearance of board, composition work, as well as student's ability to explain their topic.  On Wednesday students will have a brief quiz
based on the information gathered in the speeches. Therefore fourth should review the commandments; third should review the sacraments, and second the saints on the web site.
On Wed.  we will have a full day of class  with our Thanksgiving Mass at 9:00.  We are off Thursday and Friday and  will return to school on Mon., Nov. 26. The only homework this week is to prepare for the Religion quiz. .Please check during the week for new grades that  will now be entered in Quarter 2. I want to wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving.               Ms. Saville
