Homework for April 30 to May 4 for Class 1-2

Dear Parents,
         Please remember to send in quizzes signed if you have not done so.   We are beginning a new module 5 in Math and a new unit in ELA this week after testing is completed.

Lesson Plan

Homework for April 30
Math - Study corrected Exit tickets 21 to 29 for End of Module Test tomorrow.  You should have reviewed workbook pages I assigned last week.
Phonics- Do pp. 205 and 206.  Follow directions.

Homework for May 1
 *No Math homework tonight!
Social Studies- Study textbook pp. 152 to 165  Be ready for an assessment on the following words:
Native Americans, explorers, Vikings, colonies, grid map, Pilgrims, independence, American Revolution, Declaration of Independence, president  On loose leaf write a full heading. Answer in complete sentences only questions 1, 2, 3, and 4 in Thinking About Ideas on p. 184. DO NOT COPY QUESTIONS!
Religion- Study pp. 190-191. Answer p. 192 and 194 (all 6 questions). Watch video on  the seven sacraments   Be ready for a brief assessment on the seven sacraments 

Homework for May 2
Math-  Do pp. 3 and 4 in new workbook.  Use the work done on pp. 1 and 2 for a guide.
Phonics - Read p. 211 and do p. 212. Follow directions!
Social Studies- Quiz is tomorrow.  Review well textbook pp, 152 to 165. Practice drawing a grid map.

Homework for May 3
Math- Do pp. 7 and 8.  Look at pp. 5-6 as a guide.
Phonics- Do pp. 213 and 214.
Religion - Quiz tomorrow.  Review Chapters 15 and especially 16.  Watch video on  the seven sacraments   


Homework for May 4
Math - Do pp. 11 and 12.  Follow directions on top of page.  Write the name of  four different objects for each.
Religion - In Reflections workbook do pp.  52-53. Follow directions in book.  Draw and color  picture showing priest (pouring water), baby, parents, godparents, baptismal font, candle. Write THREE or FOUR sentences about what is happening at BAPTISM (not something else).
***Work on MAP skills in ALL FOUR subjects areas!
*** Some students were given readings to practice for OUR class Mass next Thursday.  Don't lose the paper; keep in folder.

Homework for April 23 to 27 fr Class 1-2

Dear Parents,
         On Monday EVERYONE MUST BE DRESSED IN FULL SCHOOL UNIFORM.  On Tuesday first graders will be performing in their Spring Gala show and should dress up nicely.  On Thursday report cards will be distributed to students and on Friday there will be 12:00 dismissal and parents came come for Parent-Teacher Conferences between 3:00 and 8:00 p.m.   
         On Wednesday and Thursday students will be taking their End of Module Reading Assessments and should review books (on-line) Goods and Services and Supermarket  as well as ELA vocabulary definitions in their notebook.

Homework for April 23 
Math- Do pp. 113 and 114. Be sure to look at previous pages for a guide!
Phonics- Do pp. 197 and 198.  Be sure to follow directions!
***Dress up for Spring Gala show tomorrow!
****I have assigned more missions on MAP for each subject area which you may work on but DO NOT ANSWER MORE THAN 25 QUESTIONS A DAY!  DO SLOWLY AND ACCURATELY!!!

Homework for April 24
Math - Do pp.117 and 118. Follow directions and see previous pages for a guide.
ELA- STUDY WELL ALL following ELA definitions in notebook for assessment tomorrow:         text features (title, heading),  goods, services, consumers, producers, wants, needs, earn, taxes, supermarket, necessary, decisions, spoiled, average, shopper, inventory, bitter, search, trap, pleased, tiny, collect.  This is review work and definitions are short!
****I am finally sending quizzes home.  There are eight in all: 1 Math, 2 Phonics, 1 Social Studies,   1 Religion,  3 Grammar.  Parent please sign each test and return by this Friday.
****Report Cards will be distributed this Thursday.  The Honors  Celebration, however, will not be until May 10 (Ascension Thursday).

Homework for April 25
Math-  Do pp.  121 and 122.  DISREGARD THE DIRECTIONS AND FOLLOW THE METHOD WE  USED ON pp. 119-120.
Social Studies - On loose leaf write a full heading. In  SS workbook answer p. 41 . Only answers!

Math - Do pp. 125 and 126. SEE PREVIOUS PAGES AS A GUIDE!!!!
Phonics-  Do pp. 199 and 200. Read pp. 201 -202.
Religion- Watch video on  the seven sacraments    Quiz on this next week!
***Dismissal is at 12:00 on Friday. Parent-Teacher conferences are 3:00 and 8:00 p.m.

Homework for April 27
Math - Do pp. 129 and 130.  SEE PREVIOUS PAGES AS A GUIDE!!!!
Phonics -Do  203 and 204.
Religion -Study Chapter 15 and 16 for quiz next week.   Watch video on  the seven sacraments  again.
****All students MUST have all quizzes signed and returned no later than Monday.
****End of the Module Math Test will be on Tuesday next week. Corrected exit tickets will be sent home on Monday so for now you can review Math workbook pp. 89 to 130.
***Remember there is 12:00 dismissal this Monday, April 30th  as well.
***If you were not here for Handwriting do pp. 80-81. Write at least THREE sentences under your picture.  First watch a video on Noah's Ark story for kids on you tube.

Math - Do pp. 95 and 96. Math Quiz tomorrow. Study workbook pp. 61 to 92. Review  corrected exit tickets 13 to 20.
Religion- In Reflections book do pp. 26  and 27. WRITE 3 SENTENCES that answer the question. Draw and color picture. Follow directions on p. 26.

Homework for April 17
*NO Math homework tonight!
Phonics - Read p. 191 and do pp. 192 and 193. Fill in an answer for each on p. 193.
Religion- In Reflections book do pp.30 and 31. Draw and color picture.  Follow ALL directions.  Write THREE sentences on p. 31.

Homework for April 18
Math- Do pp. 101 and 102. For a guide see work done on previous pages.
Phonics- Do pp. 194, 195, and 196. Follow directions on each page.

Homework for April 19
Math - Do pp. 105 and 106. BE SURE to look at previous pages for a guide!
Religion - Study Chapter 15.  Answer pp. 180 and 181.  Quiz on this chapter next week!

Homework for April 20
Math- Do pp.109 and 110.  BE SURE to look at previous pages for a guide!
Social Studies - Study textbook pp. 152 to 161. On loose leaf write a full heading.  Answer the FOUR questions on p. 161.

I assigned 4 new lessons: one  in Language, one in Reading, one in Math, and one in Vocabulary.   Please work on all four .  Complete any lesson that is "in progress" and then do the new ones.  Please do with care.  Do your best!
*** Quizzes will definitely be sent home next week--either Monday or Tuesday!

Homework for April 9 to 13 for Class 1-2

Dear Parents,
           Welcome back!  Hope you've been enjoying our wintry spring!  Please have children bring in their ELA assignments done on THREE loose leaf  sheets each with a heading and four completed Math assignments on the two sheets on Monday.

Homework for April 9
Math - Do pp. 75 and 76 in the workbook
 Social Studies - Quiz tomorrow will be based on the Studies Studies notes in their notebook and  text pp.138 to 141)
***When I checked the pearsonrealize web site I noticed that many students had not logged on to read the book Goods and Sevices and the book Supermarket--both of which are in the Selection Collection. I assigned for students to reread these two books at home for vacation.  It is still assigned until April 20th so please read them over tonight if you have not done so!!!! Go to Classes and click on the last number listed to find Text Collection.  Read both books mentioned.
***Some students will be taking the NYSESLAT Speaking Test starting this Wed. No need to review.

Homework for April 10
Math -Do pp. 79 and 80 in the workbook.
Religion - Quiz tomorrow.  Study Chapter 11 and especially Chapter 12.  Be able to explain some things the Holy Spirit helps us to do.

Then complete Mission 3 which has been assigned to all students.  I will be checking!
Remember to read the two books in the Text Collection from yesterday. (correction made).
***Those who missed Handwriting should do pp. 62 and 63.  Our church is Our Lady Queen of Martyrs and priest is Father Antonio. Draw a picture of the front of our church building on p. 63.

Homework for April 11
Math - Do pp. 83 and 84 in the workbook.  Study corrected exit tickets 13 to 20 for quiz next week!
Phonics - Do pp. 181 and 182. Read pp. 183-184.
*** Those who missed Handwriting should do pp. 64 and 65 on Rr.

Homework for April 12
Math - Do pp. 87 and 88 in the workbook.
Phonics-  Do pp.  185 and 186.
***Click on this link: animal classification and watch the video again.  Pay close attention and take notes if you like since I will be giving an assessment on it on Friday.
***Every Tuesday we are having Grammar Day.  This means every Tuesday I will be reviewing four or five grammar skills for ELA and giving an assessment based on what I teach that day.  We started this past Tuesday.  I will be sending home this corrected assessment and other quizzes next week. Grades have already been recorded on the SIS.

Homework for April 13
Math - Do pp. 91 and 92 in the workbook. Study corrected exit tickets 13 to 20 for quiz on Tuesday!
Phonics- Do pp. 187 and 188.  On p. 188 write three  complete sentences.
ELA - Study the definitions of these words in your notebook: consumer, producer, goods. services, earn, want, need, tax money, text feature (title, heading, illustrations), shopper, spoiled, average. They are listed in your notebook dated 3/19.  Assessment on this is on Monday.
