Notices for Jan. 3 to 7, 2022

 Dear Parents,

Best wishes for the new year!  I want to thank you all  for your lovely gifts at Christmas time!  I really appreciate your thoughtfulness! I have two tests scheduled for this week, which are the Mid-Module Math Assessment  and a Religion Quiz on the Advent and Christmas seasons.  Study guides will be  provided on the daily homework assignments on google classroom. Our upcoming lesson in Science this week will be on the topic of  "sound": identifying different types by volume and pitch,  exploring how they are produced and explaining what happens inside the eardrum.

I have copied and pasted this message from Mr. Woods: Please remind your parents that doors will close at 8:15 AM and there will be no early pickup permitted. Students are to remain home if they need to see the dentist etc. All students... K-8 are to enter through the lunchroom and prayers will be held now at 9:00 AM.

GYM Class will be on Tuesday this week instead of Friday.  On Friday all students need to wear their uniform.  This Friday, Jan. 7th, there is 12:00 dismissal.  Also Progress Reports will be sent home that day. These need to be signed and returned by Monday.

Students in first grade are scheduled to have the NWEA MAP test in Reading on Jan. 11 and the NWEA MAP test in Math on Jan. 12th. These MAP tests are given three times a year, in the fall, winter, and spring. Students may bring their own headphones if they wish in order to be more comfortable.   Now that the holiday break is over, students should begin working on Edgenuity again in order to review Reading and Math skills.  On Jan. 17 school will be closed for Martin Luther King's Day.

Mr. Woods recently announced that Progress Reports will now be distributed AFTER our return from  Christmas break.  Our Christmas Party will be on Thursday so please have students bring in their own juices and also a treat to share with the class.  All must be stored bought and/or individually wrapped.  Do not send in pizza or chips since these will already be provided that day. On Thursday we are also having Ugly Sweater Day and one winner will be chosen from each class.

On Friday morning we will be in Church.  Bible readings will be recited and each class will have a turn to sing a Christmas carol they practiced.  I will be leaving by 12:00 on Friday.  Someone will be assigned to dismiss our class that day.  Please check google classroom for any additional information. I ask that you also check google classroom periodically during the Christmas break in case I have any important notices that I must let you know before our return on Jan. 3.

I want to wish everyone a very healthy and happy holiday and thank you all for your support!
