Fourth Grade 12/8 - 12/12

NOTE: Last week's work had to be rescheduled due to visit from Title 2d instructor on Mon.
and splitting up of class on Tues. , Wed., and Thurs. because of fourth grade teacher's absence.

Social Studies

12/8 Aim: To introduce European explorers
Lesson: Identify explorers and explain why they came to America pp. 82-85
Homework: In notebook answer Workbook p. 20. Write date and page.

12/9 Aim: To explain lines of longitude and latitude
Lesson: Students explain how to read these lines pp. 86-87.
Homework: In notebook answer Workbook p. 21. Write date and page.

12/10 Aim: To explain a global grid
Lesson: Students focus on places on map using the global grid pp. 88-89.
Homework: Study pp. 86-89.

12/11 Work with Title 2d grant projects Homework: Complete Map of the Month.

12/12 Aim: To present student projects
Lesson: Students give their presentations on Colonial America prepared last week.

12/9 Aim: To identify Christmas season
Lesson: Students read a script describing the meanning of the Christmas season pp. 162-163.
Homework: Study the Ten Commanndments on p. 99.

12/10 Aim: To identify the Epiphany
Lesson: Identify and tell significance of each of the gifts of the Magi pp. 164-165
Homework: Memorize Jesus' greatest commandment on p. 100.

12/11 Aim: To review the Commandments
Lesson: Discuss the meaning of each of the ten commandments
Homework: Gospel card is due on Monday.

12/12 No class due to 11:30 dismissal
