Dear Parents,
This week all students will begin using their student assignments pads distributed last week to copy their daily homework from each class. Homework will still be posted on the blog but parents should check these pads for last minute updates or messages. Whenever a student is absent, parent should check blog for homework and have child turn in their missing assignments upon their return to class.
Please note that whenever tests are given, students will always be required to study both the chapter assigned in textbook AND the corresponding notes or work done in their notebooks.
PLEASE REMEMBER TO REVIEW BOTH!
This week's vocabulary definitions are in the area of Language Arts and are listed below:
* sentence - a group of words that express a complete thought
* statement - a telling sentence; it ends with a period
* question - an asking sentence: it ends with a question mark
* phrase - a group of words that do not make a complete sentence
* personal narrative - a true story told from the writer's point of view of an event that he/ she has experienced
SECOND GRADE:
9/21 Spelling test Wed. Study all sixteen words on p. 24 in Spel/Vocab text book.
Grammar test Wed. Study pp. 8 to 11 in Language Arts (Voyages) text book. See notebook.
In Language Arts notebook, on top line write LA Workbook, date, page numbers. Answer text book pp. 30 and 32 - do not copy questions; only answer them.
9/23 Religion test Fri. Study Chapter 1 (pp. 20 to 30) especially pp. 28, 29, 30 in text and notes in Religion notebook. Also memorize the first half of the Act of Contrition on p. 328 section 6.
Vocabulary test Fri. Study all 15 definitions in Vocabulary notebook for thisweek.
THIRD GRADE: 9/21 Spelling test Wed. IN SCRIPT. Study all sixteen words on p. 12 in Spel/Vocab text book.
Grammar test Wed. Study pp. 314 to 317 in Language Arts (Voyages)text book.
In Language Arts notebook, on top line write LA Workbook, date, page number. Answer Workbook p. 3 do not copy questions; only answer them.
