Easter Break Homework for 2nd, 3rd, 4th: 4/2 to 4/6

Dear Parents,
As I mentioned to fourth grade students, it is very important that students review for the NY Language Arts Test since it is scheduled as soon as students return after the Easter break.  As I also mentioned to students and several parents during parent-teacher conferences, the best way to prepare is to practice on  the Grade 4 English Language Arts Tests from 2010, 2009, 2008, 2007....  These can be printed out on www.nysedregents.org/Grade4/EnglishLanguageArts/home.html  If you have trouble you can also google:  New York State Language Arts Tests Grade 4.  Students should do Books 1, 2, and 3. The story questions in Book 2 refer to the story found in the "Listening Selection." Please check answers on the answer key found in "Scoring Key.  Grades 3 and 4 should also both review the "Writer's Resources" section on uses of capitalization and punctuation in the back of their Spellers as well as the graphic organizers in the back of  ELA Workbooks.
On Friday, March 30, I sent home a typed sheet of Religion notes to all students in grades 2-1, grade 2-2, and  grade 3. This sheet had a set of Religion terms and a set of essay questions for students to look up and study. Grade 4 had received three sheets previously: two sheets of review and one with a set of ten essay questions.  Students should look up and  practiceWRITING out the answers.
The ELA homework assigned for last Thursday will be checked on Wed., April 18th. For 3rd grade,  the assignemnt  was to answer ELA Workbook  pp. 103, 104, and 116.  For 4th grade, the assignment was ELA Workbook pp 106, 112. 113.  Since the weekly vocabulary test was not given before vacation, students should review the same defintions for the week after the Easter break.
             HAVE A BLESSED EASTER!
