Dear Parents,
This Thurs., Oct 21, I will be away at another school attending a Religion workshop from 8:30 to 12:30. Also since both the ITBS/COGAT tests and the Safe Environment Curriculum must be covered this week, adjustments will need to be made in the scheduling to accomodate all this. Last Friday's vocabulary will also need to rescheduled for this week. Test papers will be sent home in a folder next week and each test will need to be signed and returned to me in the same folder. The test in this folder are only for tests given by me and should not be confused with tests given by any other teacher.
The vocabulary words for this week are in the area of Language Arts:
*noun - word that names a person, place, or thing
*plural - word that names more than one person, place, or thing formed by adding s or es (eg. boys, boxes). Irregular plurals are formed differently (eg. children, teeth)
*possessive - word that shows ownership using an apostrophe.
Add apostrophe and s to a singular noun : boy's
Add apostrophe after s to a plural noun : boys'
*common noun - word that names any one member of a group of a person, place, thing (eg. day,
student)
* proper noun - word that names a particular member of a group of a person, place, thing (eg. Saturday, Javier)
