Homework for Jan. 6 to 10

Dear Parents,
Welcome back!  Thank you very much for all your lovely and thoughtful gifts.  I appreciate them so very much!!! I opened them all on Christmas Day! Please remember to have your children bring in their homework: three sheets of loose leaf with the questions they answered from the three books on the Pearson website.  It is due no later than this Thurs, Jan.  9 in case you need a little more time but by Friday grades must be recorded.  There will be a test on The Recess Queen on Thursday as well as a Writing Test based on A Fine, Fine School and The Recess Queen on Friday.
On Friday I will be sending home a set of ten tests to be signed in a folder: 2 Religion, 2 Reading,  1 Phonics, 1 Writing, 1 Math, 1 Grammar, 1 Social Studies, and 1 Science.  Please return all in the same folder by Mon., Jan. 13.
***I have been checking each student's  progress in both Reading and Math on Success Maker and will discuss with you upon our return.  MAP TEST FOR FIRST GRADE HAS BEEN SCHEDULED: MATH IS ON JAN. 17 AND READING IS ON JAN.22. Progress Reports will be sent home this Friday and Report Cards will be given out by the end of the month.

***Parent, please sign each of the ten tests in the test folder and send back them back in the same test folder with all the tests inside by Monday!  Also, please sign the Progress Report. I will return it to you as soon as I see the signature.
***Practice Reading and Math om Success Maker at every opportunity!
***Parents, please note that many students are getting Inc, on their Math homework page over and over because THEY ARE STILL NOT FOLLOWING ALL DIRECTIONS! It is extremely important that students pay attention to directions and LEARN TO NOTICE DIFFERENCES like changes from 8 to 9.  If students keep repeating the same type of errors over and over, then my correcting their work daily is of no use.  Students need to learn from mistakes, not keep repeating them! Please review their work whenever possible.
***Ms. Alma asked that you consult her blog to review the song students are practicing for their upcoming performance.
