Third Grade 11/17 - 11/21

Social Studies

11/17 Aim: To review work on Native American way of life
Lesson: Students copy notes for study on Chapter 3. Review for test.
Homework: Study notes on Chapter 3 in notebook for test Tues.

11/18 Social Studies Test (Chapter 3)

11/19 Aim: To plan for technology lesson
Lesson: Arrange to have each group of 4 students work on one topic about NYS to discuss
and record information; eg climate, transportation, geography, government.
Homework: On looseleaf write a heading and write four sentences on topic selected.

11/20 Aim: To continue to plan for technology lesson
Lesson: Each group of 4 students choose an imaginary pen pal in a city and make a chart
showing the country and continent in which it is located. Each must choose a different continent.
Homework: Use the internet or world map to locate your city and find some information on it.

11/21 Aim: To continue to plan for technology lesson
Lesson: Each member of each group is assigned a specific topic to research about their city;
for example, climate, geography, etc.

Religion

11/17 Aim: To introduce the first five commmandments
Lesson: Students copy notes on what these commandments are and a brief explanation on
their meaning.
Homework: Study notes on the commandments in notebook.

11/18 Aim: To introduce the next five commandments
Lesson: Students copy notes on what these commandments are and a brief explanation on
their meaning.
Homework: Study notes on the commandments in notebook.

11/19 Aim: To review all ten commandments
Lesson: Draw a picture for each of the commandments to show how we follow it.
Homework: Finish work at home and study notes for test.

11/20 Aim: To introduce items in the church
Lesson: Students identify the different items pictured on First Communion pp. 4-5
Homework: Study notes on the ten commandments for test Fri.

11/21 Religion Quiz (on commandments)
