Fourth Grade 3/9 - 3/12

SOCIAL STUDIES

3/9 Aim: To describe the Western Frontier
Lesson: Explain Big Tree Treaty. pp. 160-163
Homework: In notebook write date and page. Answer Workbook p. 34.

3/10 Aim: To introduce the War of 1812
Lesson: Explain the war and answer questions on pp. 164-165.
Homework: Use filled in organizer sheet to look up information in text book
pp. 166 to 183 to find sentences you can use for your essay. Write these on looseleaf

3/11 Aim: To explain how transportation changed
Lesson: Describe steamboats, canals, and railroads. pp. 166-167
Homework: Begin working on essay using organizer sheet as guide and sentences you
chose from textbook. Remember not to copy sentences as is; reword them.

3/12 Aim: To describe the Erie Canal
Lesson: Explain importance of the canals. pp. 168-171
Homework: Complete essay. Be sure looseleaf has heading and essay has three
paragraphs with six sentences in each. Essay and organizer sheet are due Mon.

3/10 Schedule change due to time allowed during this period for Spring Show
practice on stage


3/11 Aim: Review the seasons of Lent and Easter
Lesson: Read and discuss scripture related to the above. (GL p. 35)
Homework: Study Chapter 20-21 on Lent and Triduum and notes in notebook for
test on Thursday.

3/12 Religion Test (Lent / Easter)
