SOCIAL STUDIES

3/2 Aim: To understand why a capital city was necessary
Lesson: Explain who helped build Washington D.C. pp. 166-7
Homework: In notebook write date and page. Identify all people and places on p. 166.

3/3 Aim: To discuss life in the new capital
Lesson: Explain pp. 168-9 and answer questions on p. 169 in notebook.
Homework: In notebook answer Workbook p. 37. Write date and page.

3/4 Aim: To compare & contrast Washington D.C. past and present
Lesson: Explain how it has changed and stayed the same since 1790. pp. 170-1
Homework: In notebook write date and page. Identify all voc.& places on p. 170.

3/5 Aim: To identify memorials in Washington D.C.
Lesson: Students copy notes on these memorials. pp. 172-3
Homework: In notebook write date and page. Answer Workbook p. 38.

3/6 Aim: To discuss how government works
Lesson: Students answer questions on p. 175 in notebook.

RELIGION

3/2 Aim: To introduce Mary as model
Lesson: Students copy notes (Guidelines pp. 30-1). Read and discuss John 19: 26-27.
Homework: Study notes.

3/3 Aim: To teach last section of the Apostles' Creed
Lesson: Students copy above in notebook and study.
Homework: Memorize prayer in notes (Apostles' Creed)

3/4 Aim: To introduce Peter as leader
Lesson: Students copy notes (Guidelines pp. 24-5). Read and discuss Luke 6: 12-16
and Matthew 16: 18-20.
Homework: Study notes. Study pp. 324-325.

3/5 Aim: To explain role of church leaders
Lesson: Students copy notes. Teach name of pastor, feast day of parish. Read and
discuss Matthew 28: 16-20.
Homework: Study notes. Memorize pp. 324-325. Test on Friday.

3/6 Aim: To review Stations of the Cross and Apostles' Creed
Lesson: Quiz on both of the above and notes
