Dear Parents,
Thank you to all parents who remembered me on Valentine's Day. Your thoughtfulness is very much appreciated. My new picture is meant as a visual aid to remind parents that students of all grades need to review their Religion notes. They should memorize the Ten Commandments and review what each one means for a test this Wednesday!
The vocabulary definitions for this week are in Language Arts. Please make certain students take note of the examples of each listed.
* helping verb - verb added before the main verb forming a verb phrase eg. will go, might buy, can see, has done, is coming
*being or linking verb - verb that shows what someone or something is. It does not express action. eg. am, is, are, was, were
*present participle - verb phrase formed by adding -ing to the present and using the helping verbs: am, is, are, was, were eg. is walking, are walking, was walking, were walking
*past participle - verb phrase formed by addding -ed to the present and using the helping verbs: has, have, had
eg. has walked, have walked, had walked
*irregular verb - verb whose past and past participle is NOT formed by adding -ed
eg. sing/sang/sung; write/wrote/written

2/22 Rel - Study notes on the Ten Commandments. Be ready to write each commandment and explain what it means. Also memorize Jesus' Two Great Commandments and Jesus' New Commandment. Test is on Wed.
2/24 Spel - In LA notebook answer Speller p. 134 # 11 to 20 and p. 136 #1 to 10 in script. Study 25 words on p. 132 for test Friday in script.
THIRD GRADE:
