Homework for 2nd, 3rd, & 4th Grades 1/10 - 1/14
Dear Parents,
Please remember there is 12:00 dismissal this Friday. This week we will be reviewing for Mid Term exams which will begin next week. The first exam (on Jan. 18) will be the Spelling/Writing Exam which will include Spelling words, dictation of sentences, personal narrative writing, letter writing, and penmanship.
Script will be required for fourth grade for ALL areas of the exam. Script will only be required in the spelling portion of the exam for third grade. Neat penmanship will also be required for the second grade exam but no script! The second exam (on Jan. 19) will be in Religion. PLEASE BE SURE TO READ THE REVIEW NOTES FOR EACH SUBJECT FOR EACH GRADE LISTED ON MY BLOG POSTED OVER THE HOLIDAY VACATION.
As you can see I have been adding pictures on the blog of different saints whose feast days occur this month. Since the Archdiocesean exam very often requires students to write about a saint of their choice, I am offering students an opportunity to get extra credit by writing a composition of two paragraphs about one of the saints. This should be done on looseleaf beginning with a full heading and a title (name of the saint). The first paragraph should describe the life of the saint and the second should tell how he or she could be like this saint in living a Christian life. These paragraphs should be written by the student (not copied or done by a anyone else).
