Homework for 2nd, 3rd, 4th Grades 3/7 to 3/11

Dear Parents,
The third grade Religion quiz on the essay questions listed in notebook will be rescheduled to this Monday due to my absesnce on Thursday and early dismissal on Friday. The Vocabulary (Word Wall) test will be given this Thursday since there is no school this Friday. Progress Reports will also be sent home this Thursday. Be aware that on this report any grade showing 70.00 means the child is presently failing in that area so far in this quarter and needs to give it extra attention.

Below are the vocabulary definitions for this week in Language Arts:

*adverb-a word that tells more about a verb describing how, when, or where eg. fast, today, there

*abbreviation-a short form of a word using a period at the end eg. Ave., Thurs., N.Y.

*contraction-a short form of a word using an apostrophe (') to show where letter(s) were left out eg. can't, I'll, you'd

*quotation-the exact words a person says. Quotation marks (" ")are used before and after the words of a speaker.
