Letter to Parents 5/26 - 5/29

Dear Parents, This week's blog contains review work for end term exams which will be
given in June. I will spend much of this week in class reviewing as well. The Social Studies
tests for all three grades will contain a DBQ (Document Based Questions used for writing
an essay). The third and fourth grades only will be taking the exams from the Archdiocese
of New York in Religion.
All the definitions and other information your students need to review
are in their notebooks. Textbooks can be consulted as needed but the notes (especially in
Religion) are most important. The reference sections in the back of the texts, however, can
also be helpful in reviewing the year's work.
I will be returning all test papers this week and I ask that they all be
signed and returned no later than Monday, June 1st. Mr. Woods has a Religion and a
Social Studies formative assessment test for 2nd grade that has not yet been returned
for distribution. The formative assessment tests I made up are designed to give students
a sample of what types of questions students will be expected to answer on mid and end
term exams so any tests of this kind returned should be reviewed as well.
Please check your child's homework assignment book for any
additional homework or notices. All students should bring rosary beads this week.
Dismissal is at 2:30 this Friday. Thank you.
