Homework for 2nd, 3rd, & 4th Grades 1/27 to 1/31

Dear Parents,
          Most of last week's lesson plan  will need to be rescheduled for this week since on Wednesday school was closed, Thursday I was absent, and Friday we were out of class for periods to discuss report card grades.  This Thursday report cards will be distributed and there will be early dismissal so Parent -Teacher conferences can be held from 2:00 to 7:00 pm

FOURTH GRADE

ELA  1/28  Click on the following link:
http://mhschool.com/lead_21/grade4/ccslh_g4_rl_1_2c.html. In ELA copy the definition of POETRY
followed by the name and definitions of each of its elements shown at the bottom.  Copy the definition of DRAMA and do the same.  Then copy the definition of PROSE and do the same.  STUDY THIS ALL WELL  FOR ASSESSMENT.

REL 1/30  On loose leaf write  a full heading. Answer in complete sentences the first three essay questions in the Religion notebook.  Be sure to look up answers using correct vocabulary: don't guess!

THIRD GRADE

ELA 1/28   LAST WEEK'S  HOMEWORK IS REPEATED HERE.  STUDENTS MUST BE SURE TO ANSWER ALL QUESTIONS ON LOOSELEAF.  YOU MAY BRING TWO PICTURES :ONE OF THE PERSON AND ANOTHER OF HIS WORK.  Each student was assigned a CREATIVE or INVENTIVE individual to research as part of their unit's work.   Research information on the life  and work of this notable person. On loose leaf write a full heading and answer the following questions:  What are some interesting facts about this person's life?  What are examples of this person's creations or inventions?  What caused him to invent or create these works?  What have  been some effects of their invention or creation?  Are their inventions or creations still used or seen today? How?

REL 1/28 We will be completing PBL work this Friday on Our Lady of Mount Carmel.  Students will be assigned different tasks this week to complete this project for presentation on Friday.

SECOND GRADE

ELA 1/28   A REMINDER THAT THIS HOMEWORK IS PAST DUE!  Please follow all directions and be sure to be ready no later than Wed. Students need to watch the video on "Henry's Freedom Box" on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CA0iNLquLZo . On loose leaf write a full heading.  Write a title and a paragraph explaining what happened to Henry and describing  what  he was thinking and  how he was feeling about what was happening to him. . Explain what you would do if you were in his place. The paragraph should have six complete sentences.
