Dear Parents,
This Friday we will have our Mass for the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi. Students are allowed to bring their pet to be blessed by Father during the Mass; however parents MUST take the pet back home right after Mass. We will also have 12:00 dismissal that day. I plan to have the first weekly Religion quiz this week but need to work out with the other teachers which day is possible so students don't have too many quizzes scheduled the same day. Please have students review all Religion notes in the notebook as well as definitions copied in the notebook from the blog.
THIS WEEK ALL THIRD AND FOURTH GRADE STUDENTS RECEIVED A NEW GRAMMAR WORKSHOP BOOK. PLEASE HAVE IT COVERED. NO ONE MAY WRITE IN IT SINCE IT WILL BE COLLECTED AND USED NEXT YEAR! I WILL BE RETURNING ALL CLASSWORK AND HOMEWORK THIS WEEK. WRITING SAMLES MUST BE KEPT IN PORTFOILIOS THAT PARENTS MAY SEE WHEN THEY SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT TO SEE A TEACHER.

9/29 On looseleaf write a full heading. Answer in Voyages Workbook p. 92 #1 to 12 and p. 93 # 1 to 8. Do research on your assigned wampum belt on http://www.onondaganation.org/culture/wampum/ for the Two Row and for the Hiawatha and on http://www.gareneker.com/oh006.shtml for the Four Nation belt. Take notes and be prepared to write about it.
10/1 On looseleaf write a full heading. Answer in Voyages Workbook pp. 19 and 27 #1 to 12. Next week there will be a Religion Quiz on Wed. and an ELA Quiz on Thurs. For Religion study all notes and definitions in notebook. For ELA study all defintions in ELA notebook and all pages circled in the new Grammar Workshop book. For Phonics know the difference between and a consonant blend and a consonant digraph.

10/1 On looseleaf write a full heading. Answer in Voyages Workbook p. 29 Identify each and copy sentence and punctuation . On p. 99 do #1 to 10. 9/29 On looseleaf write a full heading. In Voyages Workbook p. 33 follow the directions. Write a title, skip a line, indent. Write an introduction. Write 3 sentences starting with First, ... Next, ... Last,... Write a conclusion. It must be in paragraph form and have at least 5 or 6 sentences. Be sure to check for correct use of capital letters and punctuation.
10/1 On looseleaf write a full heading. In Voyages Workbook p. 28 put the letter and copy each sentence with the correct punctuation. On p. 29 answer B,C, D, E only.
