Homework for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th for May 2

Dear Parents,                                                                                                              UPDATED
        Congratulations to our First Communion class who will be celebrating the sacrament this Sunday at 1:00!  Due to the Math State Test this week NO OTHER HOMEWORK SHOULD BE DONE  until the test is over on Friday. Therefore I'm letting you know that on Monday there will be a brief ELA quiz on Unit 5 and a brief Spelling quiz (ten questions each) for each grade. See below for study guide:

FOURTH
ELA-Review function of body systems: respiratory, endocrine, circulatory, muscular, digestive.
         Review use of relative pronouns
         Review feelings conveyed in poems "Dreams" by Langston Hughes and "Humanity" by Elma Stuckey
Spelling- too, two, you're, your, there, they're, their, hear, here, whether, weather
***It is also very important that fourth grade students become familiar with significant mythological characters listed on pp. 1 to 7 on http://www.sparknotes.com/lit/mythology/characters.html for an upcoming lesson next week. Students will be assigned a certain character to research but will be expected to have some knowledge of all.
*** On Thursday, each student will be assigned ONE particular mythological figure to research for an upcoming assignment.  Students are required to write on looseleaf  a brief summary identifying their character (6 to 8 sentences) and definition of their word. Students should also bring in their print out and one picture as a visual aid.

THIRD
ELA - Review meaning of all key words of the Preamble: union, justice, tranquility, defense, welfare, liberty, posterity, constitution, preamble   and notes on the presidential terms.
           Review the bio poems on George Washington and on Abraham Lincoln in the notebook.
Spelling-believe, caught, does, knew, question, ready, thought, usually, another, important, friendly
