Dear Parents,
There will be 12:00 dismissal this Friday. This week all classes will be completing Module 1 or Unit 1 so next week there will be Review TESTS based on the work done so far. Four quizzes for each subject will be sent home so that students review their errors and study for these tests. These quizzes need to be returned after the tests are over. On Thursday students in third and fourth grades will be given the THERE/THEIR/THEY'RE quiz previously mentioned! Treats will be given out on Friday for all those who score 90% or above. Any errors using these words from now on any assignment will count as a two point penalty!
Please disregard my previous assignment in Religion. There will be no weekly quiz in Religion this week. There most likely will be one in ELA so review Grammar in Grammar Workshop book.
Please see below for Tuesday's homework.
PLEASE NOTE THAT CLASSROOM PICTURE DAY HAS BEEN CHANGED TO FRIDAY, NOV. 13TH. ALL STUDENTS MUST BE IN FULL SCHOOL UNIFORM THAT DAY!
FOURTH
11/3 As a follow up to the book The Keeping Quilt each student is required to create a quilt square on a sheet of plain white printer paper. The sheet needs to be cut into a square shape (8 1/2 by 8 1/2 in.). It must contain a central symbol that represents something special or unique about themselves, such as a talent, skill, momentous event, special trait or interest. Around it they may draw others images related to that symbol. The whole square should be filled and colored neatly. Points will be given based on use of imagination and creativity as well as effort. No writing is allowed on the square because the images should tell the story. Name goes on the back.. Next week after tests students will give a speech on their quilt patch. All the squares will be put together to form a classroom quilt. THIS IS DUE NO LATER THAN THIS FRIDAY BUT STUDENTS MAY BRING IT IN AS EARLY AS THURSDAY. Remember to study for the there/their/they're quiz!
