Dear Parents,
Hope you had a nice Easter! This is a reminder that ALL students should bring their vacation homework in on Monday so that we can review it before the ELA State Test that begins on Tuesday. Students should also bring in any books or notebooks that were taken home for study. No other homework will be assigned for the next two weeks till the state tests are over to give students an opportunity to review.
In class second grade will continue work on Domain 6 on Cycles in Nature, but both third and fourth will begin Module 4 on April 18th. Fourth grade will be studying the Woman's Sufffrage Movement and the importance of voting. EACH STUDENT IN FOURTH GRADE WILL NEED TO BRING IN $7.00 SO MR. WOODS CAN ORDER THE BOOK THE HOPE CHEST (272 pages) BY KAREN SCHWABACH WHICH EACH STUDENT WILL BE REQUIRED TO READ! I will be collecting the money starting next week so please send it in as soon as possible. Third grade will be studying the importance of conserving water and will be reading One Well: The Story of Water on Earth by Rochelle Strauss. Since this book is only a few pages long, it will be possible to make copies for each student so there is no need to buy this one.
A reminder to second graders that their Reconcilation Ceremony is scheduled for April 19th at 11:00 and for third graders their first Holy Communion is scheduled for Sunday, April 24th. Report cards will be distributed on April 22nd and Parent-Teacher conferences will again be held from 1:00 to 7:00 that day.

4/7 REL- Study Chapter 23 and on looseleaf answer pp. 268 and 270. For p. 268 just write the word next to each number (for example 1. ecumenism)
SECOND GRADE:
4/7 REL- In the back of the Religion book be sure to review the Sign of the Cross, the Act of Contrition, the Our Father, and the Hail Mary prayers. It is espeially important that students receiving the sacrament of Reconcilation on April 19th have these prayers memorized so they can do their penance. However, I will be testing all students on reciting these prayers next week. All students also need to review the TEN COMMANDMENTS on p. 329 and Chapters 11 and 12.
