Homework for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades for Jan. 30 to Feb. 3rd

Dear Parents,
         This week we have Open House on Tuesday only from 9:00 to 11:00 if you wish to come and visit us.  Photos will also be taken that day. The Religion quiz has been rescheduled for Wed. for all classes.  On Thursday report cards will be distributed to most students.  On Friday we will have Mass for the feast of St. Blaise and students will have their throats blessed. Dismissal on Friday is at 12:00 so that parents can attend Parent-Teacher conferences which will be held fro 3:00 to 8:00 pm.
There will be no ELA quiz till next week since we just began the new Module 3B this week but students can began reviewing notes and vocabulary over the weekend if they wish.

FOURTH GRADE
1/31 Religion- Study Chapters 9, 10, and 11 on the first three commandments for Religion quiz on Wed. Be able to explain how breaking one commandment infringes on the others.

2/2 ELA - Study notes for quiz next week. Be able to use the Somebody...In... Wanted...But...So... strategy to summarize a scene I will be assigning from the play Divided Loyalties.

THIRD GRADE
1/31 Religion- Study Chapters 22 and 23 for Religion quiz on Wed.. Review the parable of The Good Samaritan.  Think of ways in which you can behave like a good samaritan.

2/2 ELA - Study notes for quiz next week. Be able to write some facts about how a wolf looks, lives, and acts based on the information from the book we are using: Face to Face with Wolves 

SECOND GRADE
1/31 Religion- Study Chapters 22 and 23 for Religion quiz on Wed. Be able to explain beliefs and practices that all Christians share all over the world.

2/2 ELA- Study vocabulary for Domain 2 and all notes including the grammar skills. Be able to retell the folktale or the narrative poem we studied. You can click on these links to review: The Tiger, the Brahman, and the Jackal and  The Blind Men and the Elephant

2/2 SS-  Copy the definitions of the following words from the glossary into your Social Studies notebook: election, ballot, candidate, citizen, debate  and STUDY them!
