Fourth Grade 2/17 - 2/20

SOCIAL STUDIES

2/17 Aim: To identify fact vs. opinion
Lesson: Students practice skill in several passages. pp. 148-149
Homework: On looseleaf write full heading. Write title. Write essay of three
paragraphs with six sentences in each based on infomation in outline & notebook.

2/18 Aim: To examine effects of the American Revolution
Lession: Students learn how trade and business grew. pp. 150-151
Homework: In notebook write date and page. Write the definitioons for all words
on p. 150.

2/19 Aim: To examine the business center
Lesson: Student learn how the banks and stocks work. pp. 152-153
Homework: In notebook write dare and page. Answer Workbook pp. 29 and 30.

2/20 Aim: To examine a time line
Lesson: Students learn about Buffalo's history using a time line. pp. 154-155


RELIGION

2/17 Aim: To review using one's conscience
Lesson: Students copy Guideline notes on moral choices. G p. 34
Homework: Study notes on Works of Mercy for test Thurs. Students will need to
know three ways the Christian community can help those in need and three
ways they can put some works of mercy into practice in their daily lives.
Students also need to memorize the seven Corporal and the seven Spiritual
Works of Mercy.

2/19 Religion Test (Works of Mercy) *This test will be given Thurs. Note change.
Homework: Study notes on Making Choices for test on Monday, Feb. 23.

2/18 Aim: To explain the goodness of God
Lesson: Students copy definition of "holiness" and the "Sanctus" said at Mass
from the Guidelines.
Homework: Memorize the Sanctus. Students will also need to know the five steps
for making a good moral choice and three ways that they are guided in forming
their conscience.

2/20 Due to cancellation of Social Studies class for school attendance at the
Baptismal celebration in the morning, Social Studies is rescheduled to this period.

Lesson: Students learn about Buffalo's history using a time line. pp. 154-55.
