Dear Parents,
No state testing this week, except for make-ups for those who were absent! Fourth graders will be required to respond to questions from chapters 3 to 8 in The Hope Chest so please and I suggest making notes for your own reference on each chapter so you don't confuse what is in each one. Third graders will be reading a set of articles in class on water conservation and responding to questions on these. Second graders will be doing a two day assessment on the human body and proper nutrition based on Domain 10 and writing a two-paragraph essay on ways to maintain good health. We will also be studying reading nutrition labels as a mini project for the end of the year. There will be an ELA quiz for third and fourth graders based on the vocabulary and work covered this week for all three classes which I plan to give either Thurs. or Fri. Please continue to review all Religion terms on the links I sent previously for the next quiz. Second graders should review the vocabulary terms in the glossary for now.
ON THURSDAY I WILL BE SENDING HOME RECENT CORRECTED QUIZZES. PLEASE SEND THEM BACK SIGNED BY MONDAY.

FOURTH GRADE
5/16 ELA - Staple the sheets for Chapter 2 and Chapter 3 in your ELA notebook on separate notebook pages with the Glossary facing the front. BE SURE TO STUDY all the vocabulary (18 words in total). Study also ELA notes on the character anchor chart for Violet and Myrtle for quiz on Thurs. Continue to read up to Chapter 6 in The Hope Chest and record mini notes on each chapter for yourself on loose leaf.
*Any student who lost any of their two sheets (and therefore did not receive it back) should do the work on loose leaf and copy the missed vocabulary definitions in their notebook tomorrow in class.

THIRD GRADE
5/16 ELA- Complete the thought question for "No Water? No Problem" on Achieve 3000. Be sure to answer all questions and write at least 8 to 10 complete sentences. Since next Monday we have early dismissal it is important that you finish this for homework.

SECOND GRADE
5/16 ELA- Study all ELA notes given today on the digestive system, the excretory system, a well-balanced diet, and daily health habits. Tomorrow students will finish the writing portion of their Domain 10 Assessment including a two- paragraph essay on maintaining good health.
5/18 ELA - Complete the activity and the thought question for the article "Is Your Skin Crawling?" on Achieve 3000. Be sure to write at least 6 to 8 complete sentences.
