Homework for May 8th to 12th for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades

Dear Parents,
         This is a reminder of what was posted last week regarding quizzes for this week.  This week some (but not all students) from all three grades will be taking NYSELAT Test Tues. through Thurs.  Schedules had to be rearranged last week and again this week due to this testing so some lessons had to be rescheduled.  Daily assessments are still being given whenever I do see classes. Please see below for the reminder. Please check back Thursday for any further notices.

FOURTH
5/5 * ELA Quiz that was cancelled due to testing will be given next Mon., May 8. Review all vocabulary in ELA notebook.
alleged, deny, disloyal, imposing, opposing, ratify, reconvene, seldom.  Know the meaning of sayings: make one snap, make one's head spin, give one a jolt
 and be able to summarize Chapter 1 of The Hope Chest. 

5/11  There will be a Religion Quiz this Friday  based on the Archdiocesan Review notes in the Religion notebooks, the rosary,and the Mysteries of the Rosary.Watch the videos on Apparition of Mary to St. Bernadette   and  Apparition of Mary to the Children of Fatima   Read about the apparition of Mary Juan Diego on p.156.  Be able to write about one of the Joyful Mysteries or one of these apparitions.

THIRD
5/5 * ELA Quiz that was cancelled  due to testing will be given next Mon., May 8. Review all vocabulary in ELA notebook
 access, demand, pollution, agriculture,chemicals, industry, livestock, produce, societyand be able to explain why there is such little access to freshwater on earth. There will be a 

5/11 Religion Quiz this Friday based on the Archdiocesan Review notes in the Religion notebooks, the rosary,and the Mysteries of the Rosary. Study text book pp. 286 to 289 and p. 326. Be able to write explaining the Immaculate Conception and Assumption and Annunciation of Mary.


SECOND
5/5 *ELA Quiz on Monday.  Know the following vocabulary terms: nutrients, nutrition, magnify, observations, vaccinations, cells, function,stimuli, tissue, organs, systems, bacteria.  Be sure to know the meaning and when you would use the sayings: "keep your fingers crossed" and "seeing is believing." 

 5/11 There will be a Religion Quiz this Friday based on the following vocabulary:Crucifixion, Nativity, Resurrection, Ascension, Pentecost, Assumption,  Advent, Lent  Annunciation, Incarnation, Review the Ten Commandments.

There will be a Social Studies Quiz on Chapter 10  on Monday May 15th so please review vocabulary on p. 244.  Any student who has not finished copying the ten definitions should do so no later than May 9th.
