Homework for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Grades for 5/5 to 5/9

Dear Parents,
       Please check below for this week's homework for each grade.

 FOURTH
ELA 5/6 Watch the video on http://ed.ted.com/lessons/what-makes-a-hero-matthew-winkler again and look at your ELA notes.  Think about what makes an individual heroic! On looseleaf write a heading. Write five different characteristics of what you consider a hero or heroine.Then choose a mythological figure and in a paragraph of six sentences explain what he or she did that that is considered heroic according to what is stated in the video. Some figures considered heroic are Heracles, Jason, Achilles, Odysseus, Theseus, Perseus, Agamemnon, Helen, Antigone.

REL 5/8 Religion Quiz on Friday on how to pray the rosary and on the Joyful Mysteries. Study the notes.

THIRD
ELA 5/6  Read the Aesop fable "The Ant and the Grasshopper" on http://read.gov/aesop/. Copy and paste this link on your address bar to read the fable.  On looseleaf  write a heading.  Write the fable title.  Write beginning, middle, and end  and write one sentence next to each to retell the fable in your own words. Then write problem and solution and write one or two sentences next to each explaining what these are.

SECOND
ELA 5/6 Think about the topic  for the imagined story you were working on this morning. On looseleaf write a heading. Create a title (Remember to use capitals) . Write a paragraph of six to eight sentences telling the story you planned to write about.  Be sure it has a beginning, middle, and end. Remember it must be the imagined story you planned this morning.
