Homework for 2nd, 3rd, & 4th Grades for 3/9 to 3/13

Dear Parents,
         Most students have successfully logged on to www.ixl.com  and I have been viewing their progress in class as well as for homework.  There are a few students especially in SECOND GRADE who have done NO HOMEWORK at all.  Please see me if your child is having a problem logging on since it is important that all students practice these assigned skills.
          There will be no new vocabulary words this week so students can review for the Unit 4 Tests. The Unit 4 Test in ELA is scheduled for Mon., March 16 and Religion is on March 17th. A study guide will be provided on Thursday. Please see below for this week's  homework:

FOURTH GRADE
ELA 3/10  Be sure to log on with user name and password. Do at least 30 questions on C3 (distinguishing sentences, fragments, and run-ons) and JJ1 (using capitals in titles).  It is very important that students practice this so they APPLY it in their writing assignments.Please remember to slow down and work carefully if you have more than four errors within those 30 questions.

Handwriting 3/12 Do pp. 50-51 neatly!  All students were given TWO  corrected ELA quizzes. Please review all errors well including on the essay but do not make any chnages on the quiz itself. Please be sure to return the TWO quizzzes by Monday morning.

ELA 3/12 Study the definitions of the following words in your ELA notebook:
genre, prose, poetry, drama, rhyme scheme,    rhythm pattern (meter), point of view, dialog, stage directions, theme, first and third person, tense, collective noun, limerick, mood, poetic license, preposition, prepositional phrases, climax, idiom, simile, metaphor, alliteration, onomatopoeia, hyperbole, personification,  fragment, run-on sentence, emotion, primate, pachyderm, tsunami, instinct, nymph, brood, emerge

THIRD GRADE
