Study Guide for Religion Final Exam for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th

Religion Final for ALL grades will be given on June 2nd.  Third and Fourth will be taking the Archdiocesan Exam.

FOURTH GRADE
*Review thoroughly all definitions on  www.studystack.com/flashcard-258432
*Review all definitions of words on  flashcards for Units 1,2,3 & 4 on http://www.sadlierreligion.com/webelieve/index.cfm
***MOST IMPORTANT:  Study all notes on front and back of sheet stapled in Religion notebook labeled : To review for Archdiocesan Exam
*Study sheet stapled in notebook listing ten essay questions and be prepared to answer EACH part of every question.
*Study sheet listing the Beatitudes and explaining the meaning of each.

Be sure to memorize the following:
*each of the Ten Commandments  (and specific ways in which YOU practice each of these)
*Jesus'  Two Great Commandments
*Jesus'  New Commandment
*each of the Beatitudes (Sermon on the Mount)
*Corporal Works of Mercy
*Spiritual Works of Mercy
*Practical Works of Mercy  (specific ways in which we practice these works of mercy)
*each of the five Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary  text p. 328
*each of the five Luminous Mysteries of the Rosary. See http://www.rosary-center.org/luminous.htm
*the Stations of the Cross (text p. 329)
*the steps for making a good moral choice (listed on review sheet)
*the Sanctus prayer
*names of the Sacraments of  Initiation, Sacraments of Healing, Sacraments of Service
*name of a saint and specific evidence of how he/she lived a life of holiness
*four steps of Reconciliation and how to prepare for it (examination of conscience)
*Advent season practices:  making an Advent wreath with candles, creating a  Jesse tree with Bible symbols, setting up a Nativity scene.
*different types of sins (on  Archdiocesan review sheet)
*Lenten season practices: receiving ashes on Ash Wednesday, praying the Stations of the Cross, fasting, almsgiving.
*dates and names of important feast days listed on review sheets



THIRD GRADE
*Review all vocabulary definitions on  http://www.cram.com/flashcards/grade-3-guardian-angel-archdiocesan-review-2746540   On the  top click on Test. Then on right side click on multiple choice under question format and then on  make new test. Practice taking the test as shown in class.
*Also review  www.studystack.com/flashcard-374942
*Review definitions of all words on flashcards for Units 1, 2, 3 &4 on http://www.sadlierreligion.com/webelieve/index.cfm
*Study sheets labeled Mid-term Review stapled in notebook.
*Practice answering essay questions (written in Religion notebook)

Be sure to memorize:
*each of the Ten Commandments  (and specific ways in which YOU practice each of these)
*Jesus' Two Great Commandments
*names of the Sacraments of Initiation, Sacraments of Healing, Sacraments of Service (p. 329)
*description and explanation of parables of The Prodigal Son (Forgiving Father), The Good Samaritan, The Mustard Seed, The Sower of the Seed (text pp. 296-299 and notebook or on sheeets)
*Advent season practices: making an Advent wreath with candles, creating a  Jesse tree with Bible symbols, setting up a Nativity scene.

*THIS WILL BE GIVEN OUT NEXT WEEK: Study review sheet with vocabulary words and essay questions.  Be prepared to answer EACH part of the FIRST FIVE essay questions only.  BE SURE TO KNOW THE MEANING OF EACH WORD ABOVE THE ESSAY QUESTIONS!

Be sure to memorize:
*THE ACT OF CONTRITION
*each of the Ten Commandments (and specific ways in which YOU practice each of these)
*each of the steps of Reconciliation and how we prepare for it:
EXAMINATION OF CONSCIENCE - thinking about our sins and knowing which commandemnts we've broken
 The four steps are:  CONFESSION - telling your sins;  CONTRITION - being sorry for your sins;
PENANCE - making up for the sins by prayers or good deeds;  ABSOLUTION- forgiveness of sins
* describing and explaining a story of forgiveness such as  "The  Lost Sheep" or  "The Forgiving Father"
